Peanut butter, banana and cookie ghosties

Peanut butter, banana and cookie ghosties

I know what you’re thinking: I’m one extreme or the other. I either completely neglect to post a seasonal / celebratory recipe or I post them non stop! You guys know that I am more of a ‘get dinner on the table’ type of food blogger, rather than a ‘cut your kids’  sandwiches into penguin shapes’ type. But, hey, as I always say – if I can do this, you can too! These are very easy to make – and rather cute if I do say so myself.

They are really funny little truffle-cum-cake-pop type things. Very tasty – and a little bit wholesome, thanks to the peanut butter and the banana. Add the cookies too and they make a cute and fairly wholesome treat for this time of year. They are really cute all lined up like this, and even though they aren’t that impressive individually (yours probably will be, but my skills lie elsewhere I’m afraid!), when they are all together they look quite good – a bit like zombies!

Makes: 16 ghosties

Takes: 20 minutes prep + 30 minutes chilling time = 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 200g chocolate chip cookies
  • 1 banana
  • 6 tablespoons of peanut butter (I used crunchy but smooth is fine too)
  • 200g white chocolate
  • Handful of dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Whizz the cookies, banana and peanut butter in a food processor until you have a paste.
  2. Roll a tablespoon worth into a ball then pop in on a lined tray and shape into a ghost type of shape.
  3. Chill for 30 minutes in a freezer.
  4. Melt the white chocolate.
  5. Spoon over the top of the frozen ghosts. Smooth down to make a ghost type covering. Don’t worry about being too precise!
  6. Pop on 3 chips for eyes and a mouth.
  7. Chill again in the fridge until they set.

Saw the other day a recipe for ‘pear on a stick’ chocolate ghosts, but these tiny buddies look so much more delicious, better to have some smaller snacks one-bites for a kids’ Halloween party
